ANd I figured out the issue this morning. At the risk of not wanting to be longwinded, suffice to say IZIP was the program creating this extension for me. For whatever reason, I re-downlaoded win zip mac and does’ have the issue, zips and unzips files fine. TO be fair, I don;t think this was completely an IZip problem, as this seems to randomly happen at times in other software according to what’s out there on the net. Apparently a random OSX/Linux issue.Hopefully this post helps someone out there one of these days.

Looks like this may have been a temporary problem on further research. Seems to be the only way to find out is to fool around with zip files and see if it continues. If anyone else wants to weigh in, thanks in advance.

And actually a short term solution was to experiment unzipping them myself , and turns out I had to experiment with different expanders. In my case Stuff It Expander worked. But then what am I supposed to tell other potential libraries….keep screwing around with various unzipping programs until you find one that works? Search for answers continues. This link us potentially helpful I think. Other thoughts welcome.

In my case, I got into a library that wanted stems, which I am now creating for several of the tracks. They and another want stems, so for me , I should probably do those as I go. On the other hand if I would have had them done already……however, since I am planning on uploading to both regularly to both, well… actually I think a best practice in this case is when a library has accepted you in, ask them what they want and don’t want. This particular one thanked me for it. Anyway the bright side here is I will have .wavs , aiffs, and 320k mp3s and stems for most of my tracks, as well as edits . But now this is because I know who wants what, just seems like a lot of work making those after the fact.

Piggybacking off what Michael said, that is 500 or more distinct cues ( as in, not including edits). Thinking back to other posts, I think DI mentioned not doing a lot of edits like that, so I am assuming this meant distinct cues?

In general I would recommend Emmett’s site as well as his book he sells there. I Return there often.

Loosely related, In Session audio, who used to own/be Nine Volt, is giving away the Beat Aesthetic Taiko Drums. Downloaded and sounded useful on initial listen. Wish these guys would reoffer their loops. Seems they sell mainly guitar loops now.

Like the tracks, Erick. That is a really large question, depends on what you goals are – different results with different libraries for different kinds of music. And different deal structures. Your music seems to have a world/new age feel to it, at least from what you posted. Look around, target 10 you like and that seem to like your style of music. You may find you have to contact several more then that if you want your tracks to end up in several. Best of luck. Very good tracks!

Yes my choice would be RA based on what I have read. NI KOMPLETE seems to have some useable ones. Heard good things about Silk but I believe is Asian flavored.

Have been trying to keep the “evergreen” concept in mind since I first read where Michael brought it up. Just makes sense to me. Enjoyed this also, thanks for posting.

I would be interested in knowing how many tracks folks would give a non-exclusive before taking a break to see how they do….exclusive also if the number is different…an album as Tbone suggested? 30+? 100 or more? If people say, for example, my first x number tracks go to this many libraries then I start writing to others…..I do have the Emmett book, think it’s great but wanted some opinions from folks here.
