Yeah, they’ve told me that too, Daniel. Simply ask them if the cue sheets have been filed for that specific “episode” (for lack of a better word). Obviously, the more detail you can give them, the better. I’d even try to see if you could find the part / event / etc it was used on YouTube to show them. In my situations, if no cue sheets was filed, they’ll chase the appropriate person down for me.
dCsoulplusmindParticipantHi Daniel,
I would keep at it with BMI. They have been really good to me when it comes to chasing production companies / networks down to get cue sheets filed. They have done it on 3 or 4 separate occasions when Tunesat detected something and it didn’t show up on my royalty statement. Follow up with them on a regular basis until you get the answer you want.

DennisMarch 8, 2016 at 1:20 pm in reply to: How many non-exclusive libraries are worth dealing with? #24281dCsoulplusmindParticipantIt’s been about 50/50 for me. I started out working only with non-exclusive libraries. As time passed I started to figure out which ones worked for me and which ones don’t. I probably work with about 10 non-exclusive libraries and 4 exclusive libraries now. The ones that I keep around are usually the ones that have made me consistent quarterly income and have a relatively easy submission process.
In regards to your issue about not having enough time, I created a calendar that I follow. Each day is a different task (i.e. instrumental cue day, vocal song day, submission day, misc day, etc) and each week the tasks are in a different order so it lessens the monotony.
dCsoulplusmindParticipantWhen I was a member of their site, I was approached by them to have my music added to their music library that they were starting. That was about 4-5 years ago. Nothing stuck and communication stopped so I’m not sure if they’re still actively pursuing it.
dCsoulplusmindParticipantI’m about 60% exclusive, 40% non-exclusive as far as income is concerned. I’ve seen a substantial increase in usage from previously non-exclusive turned exclusive libraries. At this point, I only keep vocals songs or cues that I think would fair very well as RF as non-exclusive.
June 24, 2014 at 10:20 am in reply to: 4th Quarter 2013 BMI Statements are online! How did everyone do? #16860dCsoulplusmindParticipantAfter an unexpectedly amazing quarter last statement, I took a dip this quarter. I’m ok with it though, 4th quarter is usually my slowest quarter and I’m still on track.
dCsoulplusmindParticipant@Art, I’m going through a similar situation. How long has it been for you? BMI was able to put me in touch with someone at the production company but it’s been over a year and still no cue sheets filed. If I’m not mistaken, even if cue sheets were turned in now, I wouldn’t get paid because it’s past the threshold that BMI would pay out for. Or am I mistaken?
dCsoulplusmindParticipantAdvice, yes, I’m talking about PRO. I believe they were for roughly 75, 200, and 400.
dCsoulplusmindParticipantI’ve had a very different experience than RCG. The few promo usages I’ve had on major networks paid a couple hundred for each one. Mine were used for How I Met Your Mother and The Mentalist promo spots.
