I once had an exclusive deal changed to non-exclusive. All I did was ask, mentioning no placements over a period of time. The library owner understood how I didn’t want my music just sitting and not earning and agreed.
Michael NickolasParticipantHa, my thought is we’re in the only business where something can seem wrong about getting a decent paycheck . 🙂
Michael NickolasParticipantMine are on the desk now, but years ago I had stands. I remember they were designed to be filled with sand or water to offer stability! I remember that but not the important details like brand and where they were from.
Michael NickolasParticipantYes, ASCAP website has a notification about this:
“With the launch of Songview, ASCAP and BMI are working together to make copyright data more accessible and transparent for all of our partners.”

Michael NickolasParticipantWhy would an exclusive track be in another library under a different title? Exclusive means one library only. Or do I misunderstand the question?
Michael NickolasParticipantGot one today with a playtime of over two minutes!
Michael NickolasParticipantA few have come in. Last one was for a show with

Michael NickolasParticipantMine are closer to reality today but not exactly matching my records from before the maintenance.
Michael NickolasParticipantThat is a tricky one. Maybe price it somewhere along the lines of a regional television advertisement and an internet streaming advertisement, existing music? Maybe $375 but for a year? Don’t know really, just trying to be helpful.

Presentation tips #35876Michael NickolasParticipantOn Artlist $16.60 a month gets users unlimited music, universal licenses, unlimited downloads and lifetime use in unlimited projects. How this equates to the music business going up for composers is a mystery to me.
Michael NickolasParticipantHello Frank, I think you need to set a series of smaller goals to reach your “1500 track” goal. Don’t think about how many tracks a day you need to create to reach 1500, it’s too overwhelming. Set a smaller goal first. I would suggest starting with a goal of creating a 12 song collection (album) all of the same style. Present this collection it to “high end” libraries. It’s hard to make a connection shopping music unsolicited or “blind”, but it’s not unheard of. If you strike out, consider “mid tier” libraries. Find a good home for it and move on to the next project!
Michael NickolasParticipantYeah, I could never find a single new cue sheet. It’s hard enough just to find a new series.
