BITSLINGER There is an intro (with something like a lo-fi effect) that sounds like an old gramophone recording . But this is part of my composition and appears in the track later too (without effect). Well I’ll make a discussion with him and I’ll be back.

LAwriter you are right! I had underestimated it in the first place

    I really appreciate your help!

Was it something that was “watermarked, or has a electronic fingerprint attached to it?”

No.. They only watermark was that of Pond5 in the track

..this phrase is what confuses me :
“….and if so how much would that cost?”
Because he already had found it in Pond5 (he sent me the link of the track)

Musicmatters, BEATSLINGER …Thank you very much for your fast replies!
I thought that he was asking me if it is “Cleared for Sampling” or something in order to use a part of the track in another musical work..but in the other hand as i read in the article bellow “…this applies mostly to sound effects, loops and samples.”
Any way, may be he is the only one that can make it clear for sure..

    “Cleared for Sampling” (from Pond5)

Very useful information! I’ll give it a try with longer loops too. Thanks a lot Art!

Thank you very much Art! Any clue/assumption for potential loops uses? I would only think the beginning looped music of DVDs.

    Hi,
I posted this thread a year ago, asking how we treat loops with big reverb tails in order to have a natural transition. I use now the method that PerBoysen suggested in his answer above (if you read it, thank you very much PerBoysen for your help). It helped me to create smooth and natural loops, but there is something that troubles me in this method. Although the transition of the loops sounds supernatural, when you listen to the beginning point of the FIRST loop, you listen an unexpected reverb tail which make the first second of the loop to sound totally wrong (this happens of course only in the first loop and probably it is inevitable). Wouldn’t that be a problem for the user of the loop and how that could be treated? This leads me to a second question, about what ways the loops are used by the buyers (for which it would be better to make a separate thread)

The only way i found to diminish (but not to eliminate) the above problem(?) is to reduce the volume of the tail a few db.

Here is the method, that Per Boysen suggested:
    1. Cut away audio after the loop point.
    2. Play the file and record the reverb tail following the abrupt end at the loop point.
    3. Move this recording, of the reverb tail, to the start point (= beginning of loop file).
    4. Set up a natural sounding mix between the two files and sum them into one final loop file.

    Thank you PerBoysen!
I could never think this way.. i think i need some practice though, to see if I can make it work

    Thanx a lot Art!
This dilemma (wet/dry) arose when i had to make loops that came from a track with a big amount of reverb and it was difficult to make natural cuts for the loops (due to big tails). So i wondered if in these cases, it would be more effective if the supervisor add the reverb later.

I have a similar issue and I would appreciate any help..In libraries allowing this, i use long titles (including extra words in parenthesis…for tagging) while in some other sites i use only the basic title. Though it doesn’t look very cool i have noticed that long titles have generally a positive impact.

ie Bright Faces (Epic Happy Strings Melancholy Strings Sad Word Word….)

To make matters even more compicated:
-from time to time i change these words in parenthesis
-i usualy heave many edits (often over 10)

So for each track arising too many potential titles (and each one of them with many edits). I am registered with a PRO in Europe. I had about 30 sales the last two months but i haven’t registered any track yet. Would it be a good idea to register only the tracks i sell? (with the specific TITLE, version, edit i sold it). I read in another post for someone treating the registered tracks like this. Any idea would be appreciated..
