Anyone aware of some good deals happening this BF/CM??
I’ve only been in the RF world for about a year, so not enough data for me to tell yet. Sales have been increasing, but I am also slowly rolling out tracks from a large back catalog…
I think we’d all be interested if any brave library owners on here would share their thoughts/experiences?
I’ve been following that site for a year or so now. indeed there are composers auctioning rights to production music catalogs there as well. I’m not sure, though, how someone would go about doing their due diligence before making that kind of investment… any thoughts from anyone?
I would think that listings end up there because either the rights holders really need the immediate cash, or because they feel that the earnings potential for their catalog is on the downswing. If there’s anyone out there investing in this stuff I’d love to hear how you make your valuations…
For Mac people, check out Audiofile Engineering’s Sample Manager… Very convenient to link several actions together and then batch process.
I would like to be able to sort libraries on MLR by ratings (high-low, low-high). Perhaps this is possible but if not I think it would be a nice feature and make the ratings more relevant imho. Art am I missing something here?
What about writers who do lots of sound-alike tracks? I think there’s a lot of skill in doing a sound-alike right. But, even if the melody and chord pattern is deliberately different, so as not to infringe, a good sound-alike is unmistakable in its intent to rip an existing asset. Has anyone ever faced legal issues in this regard?
