Thanks Art.
Unfortunately, the video was removed from YouTube and the product and their website are out of business.
I don’t know who produced the infomercial, and I didn’t download it … I’m doing a search to see if I can find a cached copy of the video.
Shoulda downloaded the video … you always think things will live forever on the web …
angopopParticipantbwf (broadcast wav files) files are meant to have metadata (that’s what is different than aiff or the original incarnation of wav files), so it will not mess with any software that uses wav files.
angopopParticipantbump.
angopopParticipantFrom what I’ve read in audio books, there are many times when our production music may be being played back in mono and we may not be aware of it, such as: radio gets folded down to mono at a certain distance from the transmitter; cable companies transmitting in mono but advertising as stereo to save $$; cheaper stereo televisions that aren’t really in stereo.
A good reason to check your mixes in mono! I tend to keep the stereo panning on the conservative side…
angopopParticipantHey Art, I contacted Competitrack and they told me they do not offer free accounts….
How long ago did you get your account? Maybe they stopped giving free accounts to composers?
Has anyone else joined Competitrack?
angopopParticipantHi Daniel, thanks for the offer… guitar’s my main instrument too, so I’m covered there … but will keep you in mind!
angopopParticipantThat’s great, Art…thanks.
I’ll look into that free account.
angopopParticipantAs with many things in this industry (and life) — it’s a gamble.
I have one song that I want a saxophone on, that would be the focus of the song, so I’d be more inclined to share that one 50/50. It’s a crucial part of selling the song.
I have another where I just need a jazzy ride cymbal behind guitar and bass, so the generous part of me says “keep it simple and just do 50/50” whereas the anxious/financial/practical side says 50/50 will possibly lose me a bunch of money in the future.
My songs up till now have not sold much, so this doesn’t seem like much of an issue, but like most people here, I’m optimistically thinking “THIS song will be THE ONE!”….
angopopParticipantHi Art, regarding Audible Magic — where does it say the media detection service is free? From looking at the website they charge hundreds or thousands of dollars depending on which of their many services you choose…
Which service (was it Broadcast Monitoring) are you referring to?
angopopParticipantExcellent. Thanks, Art!
October 26, 2016 at 11:05 am in reply to: Testing to see whether a song has YouTube Copyright #26121angopopParticipantThanks. I uploaded some videos.
Does anyone know how long it takes for YouTube to notify me if the video triggers that copyright infringement?
angopopParticipantIt’s been over two years since the Tunesat reports, so I just emailed BMI to see what they can do and how to proceed. Will report any news…..
angopopParticipantDoes that mean that I would lose royalty payments from SoundExchange, for instance, on songs that otherwise SoundExchange would be collecting royalties on for international use?
angopopParticipant(Bump)
I’m signed with AudioSparx so intend to opt out, but can anyone tell me what the consequences (positive and/or negative) of opting out of the SoundExchange International Mandate?
angopopParticipantHi Lee, thanks for this information.
Can you expand on what this International Mandate means?
Thanks.
