Hi glengomezmead. Yes, I have a ring out at the end with it fading out by the 30 second mark. For hard endings I always have at least a reverb tail. As a side note, I always try to have my edits sound like a complete sounding composition within itself.

GaryW. I think if you make 60, 30, 15 second edits, stingers and loops I think you would have a good chance of increasing your sales quite nicely. When I started to make edits my sales shot way up, especially with the 30 second edits. My pricing for most of my full length tracks is the same as yours. My 60 second edits go for the same price as my full length tracks with my 30 second edits going for just a few dollars less. it saves the buyer the trouble from making their own edits. The 60 30 and 15 second edits make nice drop in edits which i think some buyers really appreciate. I would say half of my sales are edits. I even make 45 second edits which some have actually sold. Anyway, just a thought, and sorry about getting a bit off topic here.

GaryW. Are you still submitting full length tracks without cut downs ?

In response to Dannyc. I still teach guitar on the side for a steady cash flow. Fortunately we live in a part of Canada that’s not as expensive to live.

My back end royalties were way up, almost tripled. My main RF site is up a little. The other main RF site is down, my main non exclusive site is down but a new RF site that i joined a few years ago is up. The bone throwers are still throwing me a bone once in a while. Because of the back end my earnings are up.

I’ve been getting placements on Mecum Auto dating back to Nov. 2014 onward, 5 episodes that includes Kissimmee #1, but nothing showing up on my PRO report yet. I’m from Canada so it will take a bit longer. If nothing comes through on my next report in Feb. then I’ll start contacting people. I also have several other placements on NBC Sports programming with some of them going back to mid 2015 that havn’t been reported yet either. If anything shows up in Feb. I’ll post here.

Thanks Art. I meant the ” Cooking Channel ” not the Food Channel but I’m sure it’s also Scripps. It’s good to know they pay something.

I myself am at the age [ and all those previous years as a full time live performer ] where my hearing and frequency judgement has gone down hill. I myself also get my wife to lend her ears, she has a good ear and understands when I ask her about certain aspects of the sound. Also, I got to know one of the fellows at a library I’m with very well over the years, he’s very understanding and helpful when I need advice on the issue. My hearing constantly changes throughout the day and evening and it’s causing judgement problems.

Sales have actually increased for me. But I’m now spending a good part of my time writing material specifically for the television market and will be for a while so it’s all to see how it will affect my RF sales this coming year.

I need to be educated with this in a nutshell. I signed up for the free Tunesat account last week and it picked up the first detection. A track of mine is being used on Telemundo on a show called Suelta la Sopa. it used 16 seconds of the track. This is a first for me. Now what ? What’s the next procedure for me to do ? Or is it even worth pursuing with this one ? I’m in various models of libraries where some show who licensed and some that don’t reveal it. Do I contact libraries, my PRO or ? I searched for a thread for info and their FAQs but really couldn’t find anything. So if someone can lead me to some info or give me a quick rundown it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚
