I would only do it if it were ard $800 & above.

220 views to 1 sale for one & another track 73 views to 1 sale.
I think it varies from track to track & also dependent on luck to a certain extend.

Mine neither. Not showing up on profile.

    In limbo. Wait.

    What else can we do?

Ok, it’s been answered in the JP forums. The “retired” tracks are now approved & back in the catalog. Resolved.

I’d rather they tell me straight up that the tracks been removed & freed so that I can submit them elsewhere. It’s either in or out.
However, I think, best to give them some time to sort it all out & see what happens in a couple weeks. In the meantime, more composing to get done.

Tracks which said ‘retired’ are now back to ‘approved’.

The tracks may say approved now but they are still not showing up in the player. So, “approved now” shown in our account doesn’t mean that they are available for client usage.

Wow, that sucks. I wouldn’t wanna be with GEMA either with all those conditions. No wonder you wanna join BMI Alicehive.

Thanks for the payment info TheOne. I’m confident that I’l get my first royalty check fast cos I’ve been getting lots of placements so it’s great to know I have the option now to switch to BMI & get paid through SWIFT.

Thanks Michael for sharing. For my comparison, it wasn’t a matter of thousands just $25 is to $4 for one placement & some others around that range diff. too. And I’m only just starting to get royalties from the US so I still need time to get better result infos. For the time being, I’m staying safe & having half of my tracks registered on each side, since I do have that option as an outsider PRO member.

Too bad for non-BMI, non-ASCAP members. We don’t get the infos you guys get so TuneSat is my only bet atm.

Even when royalties come in, there are no infos on what stations, how many plays, which tracks were used etc.

It really sucks to have to chase up for these infos all the time =(

“iS ANYBODY GONNA TRULY BE FOR THE COMPOSER?”

Not that I know of… yet.

I have a different experience with TuneSat though. I do get detections on ABC, NBC, MTV, Discovery, Nat Geo & those that you all mentioned above etc. However, I do believe that they also miss out quite a lot of detections. I’ve gotten paid for some of them & they never got picked up on TuneSat. I think they are abt 80% accurate only & very pricey but I really don’t know of any other method to detect my music on US TV plus I’m on the other side of the world. Too bad I guess, just have to make use of whatever means I can find. I really hope to be able to recoup my TuneSat expenses soon. Tough biz to be in, needs tough minds to make it.

Thanks Mark, that’s really good to know cos I specialize in energetic Crystal Method/Prodigy-ish style Electro too!

Ulla, I recently got a Dubstep Christmas tune placed. It was hilarious cos I wrote it for fun & didn’t expect it to get placed so soon but it got detected on TuneSat during this Christmas =)

Rob, Good Luck! Your Trailer/Dubstep/Industrial style is superb & I think it should do well. It’s just a matter of time for you!

Funny about what Mark & Ulla mentioned here. I just completed an Ambient Chill Album for my publisher & the request was for Ambient Chill Electro but with a slight touch of Dubstep. LOL! Maybe my publisher knows something about this trend too 🙂

Although, listening to the TuneSat detected clips. The other composers’ pieces had a lot more stuff going on ie. orchestral hits and lots of syn parts etc. Their pieces were pretty full on.

“Was there any portion of the loop in your cue before you added layers and your own bass line and melodies…even a few seconds?”

No MichaelL, but there were abt 2 bars of that drumloop with bass, not on it’s own.
