BarbieParticipant
Thanks, cyberk91,
We’re starting to post a lot of fun Christmas music on our daily music blogs — so to get in the mood for Black Friday and all the big sales, check out today’s funky old skool “CHRISTMAS SOULFUL HOLIDAY” at this link:
http://www.RadioSparx.com/Blog.
Cheers,
BarbieBarbieParticipantBump
BarbieParticipantTurk, way super cool track — I’m thinking maybe “World Fusion” but not sure??
Cheers,
BarbieBarbieParticipantHi abby, just at the top of your tracks, there is a sort filter which allows you to view the catalog in various ways. Perhaps check out the “Show all mixes” and set it to “Yes” or “No” and that will change what a client sees.
If you have further questions about your catalog display or other issues, please click CONTACT at the top of our website and a staffer will respond quickly.
Thanks, look forward to checking out your piano tracks!
Cheers,
Barbie
Creative DirectorBarbieParticipantHi daveydad,
SoundExchange royalties are related to statutory licensing that occurs for our music by sites like Google Play, Amazon, and other sites
that license music via statutory licensing. This generates royalties to ASCAP/BMI/SESAC as well as to SoundExchange.
I believe this is somewhat complicated, so if you have additional questions, please click CONTACT at our website for more info.
Hope that helps,
BarbieBarbieParticipantWow, Peter – that is GREAT music, we’d love to rep you at AudioSparx! Many MLR participants are on our site, and you can check some “Artist Testimonials” here: http://www.audiosparx.com/sa/testimony/artists.cfm
We operate several sites, so your music would also stream on many of our stations around the world (55 countries) at this site http://www.RadioSparx.com
We are very active in social media, trying to get our composers’ music out into the world and to our clients who avidly follow us, too. To consider participating, this link provides a lot of information: http://www.audiosparx.com/sa/alliance/
Thanks and hope to hear from you.

http://www.Twitter.com/AudioSparxBarbieParticipantJust FYI, we did an extensive KB article available to everyone under our general FAQ entitled “How to Write a Good Song, an AudioSparx Primer for Success” that deals with dozens of issues, including volume, etc. with links to tracks for each example. Here’s a link to KB 1940, hope this will be helpful…

BarbieParticipantWow, we have some experience about running a music library, and in fact run five different websites! What Mark says is so true, and please look at the 50+ R.I.P. music sites here on the MLR that failed because this is such a 24/7 business. So often composers write us to ask, “What do you guys do to earn your commission other than just toss up your website?” As a result, we put together yet another KB (Knowledge Base) article so artists can see what is required to be a success in this highly competitive field. Anyone applying to us for representation has a chance to read this, as it relates what each party needs to do be successful for the long term.
We’re entering our 18th year in business, and just this minute I added another bullet item to this article, to show our very active social media presence on Facebook and Twitter. Check it out:
The Relationship between AudioSparx and Our Vendors:

BarbiePS To draw new clients and entertain present clients, a good website also has to be lively and trendy. We are now featuring over 80 client videos, trailers, fashion photo shoots, etc. on our home page at AudioSparx, just as an idea that a website cannot remain static if you hope to draw a million visitors each month…
BarbieParticipantAs someone stated above, making a 30 sec track is harder than you think. We recommend when creating new music, a fun exercise is to make a really bang-up 29.5 sec track. And if you still love it, expand it to 59.5 sec. If you really, really are having fun and think it’s great then expand it to a full track of at least 90 sec so it can go into a streaming music station, or of course longer if you like.
Sometimes it’s just fun to make a bunch of 30 sec tracks in a number of genres that can be grabbed by clients needing a quick commercial.
Another reason to religiously stay right under the 30 sec or 60 sec time is that smaller clients may not have the edit capability and will just have to chop off a 32 or 36 sec track, and it destroys all your efforts at a smooth / perfect ending for your wonderful short tracks.
And an even more compelling reason to stay within the time limit is that the clients just won’t buy your 32 sec or longer tracks and instead, will license someone else’s cue that meets their criteria of being within the 30 or 60 sec max length.
BarbieParticipantJust posted this on our Facebook page, and think you’ll find it thrilling.
Here Thomas Newman (“Scent of a Woman”, “American Beauty”, “Finding Nemo”, “WALL-E”, etc.) discusses his soundtrack for “Skyfall,” the latest James Bond film. Derek Watkins, who has played trumped on all 23 James Bond soundtracks, talks about the music through the years. Some great action clips from the film too, and the orchestra recording at Abbey Road Studios. Keep your trailer music dreams alive!!!BarbieParticipantDenis, GREAT video!!! Jon posted this just yesterday on YouTube and already has over 497,000 views. I posted it on our Facebook page and I’m pretty sure it will be our most popular post of the week.
Thanks,
BarbieBarbieParticipantRob, Thanks for sharing!!! It’s so cold here in DC, with snow falling now for two days — we all wish we were there in Sunny Australia…
Cheers and Happy Holidays to Everyone,
BarbieBarbieParticipantHow about something catchy like Nadia Nadege (a bit humorous, too), so if friends or clients Googled Nadege, at least your name/music would appear.
You could also use an alias like Nadia or Nadege as a first name with a last name that is easier to pronounce like Nord, Nay, Noye, or Newville.
I think a proper name would be more exciting than a production company name, just IMO. Good luck!
BarbieParticipantSorry guys, I was a bit inspired by the video featuring the ukulele that MichaelL had posted showing the late Israel Kamakawiwo’ole — and had just licensed a uke track I thought might be a bit inspiring and on point, since so many TV commercials are featuring uke tracks these days.
Apologies, I shall try to mind my p’s and q’s going forward.BarbieParticipantI happened to be reading this thread and will share a fun ukulele track we just licensed a few minutes ago to a client. Here at AudioSparx, we sell a number of sweet, lighthearted songs in addition to a lot of Dramatic and Corporate tracks.
