Yeah, I guess quantity can be the name of the game. I don’t think this special has aired more than once…. so far. But in comparison, I just made $15 for a 53sec cue on a primetime Discovery show last statement.
daveydadParticipantWow, that is pathetic!
daveydadParticipantSolved the mystery. It took about 10 months for someone to finally file the cue sheet correctly. GoldenEar was right, the placement was done by Coney Island Music. So I assume my next BMI statement will be about $146 less because of this. 🙁
daveydadParticipantFound the answer, they are the publishing company for Coney Island Music
daveydadParticipantAnyone else just get this? Another library RIP. I never had any deal with them.
Hi everyone.
It is with regret that I have to send this email.
After almost three years of shopping your music to clients and working with some truly awesome people along the way, including all of you amazing artists, we have decided to discontinue the library section of the company. Therefore, from 1st of May 2017, we will no longer function as a non-exclusive music library (open to outside artists).
What will happen to your music and data?
All music and data on our website will be removed and the files will be deleted from the Licensequote server and our server. If you have files in the store that you wish to keep, please let us know before the 1st of May 2017 and we will send you the requested files.
Alternative services similar to TrailerTrax?
There are a number of great libraries and supervision services available and I am sure most of you are already using some of these. One in particular that I would suggest is Music Gateway’s Sync Portal. The Sync Portal functions in a similar way to TT and you can give them a non-exclusive right to shop your music and they will take a commission on any licenses they secure for you. If you want to check them out here is the link: Music Gateway Sync Licensing
What will happen to current sync pitches?
All tracks that have been pitched to clients thus far will remain active and if you have been notified by us regarding a potential sync opportunity where your music has been shortlisted, we will continue to pursue this. You will still receive the 50% license fee if your music is chosen.
We will not be pitching music to any sync opportunities from here on in. If you have not heard from us then you don’t have to worry about any potential sync fees that may be due over the next month or so.
Finally, I would like to thank each and every artist that have used our service from its inception and would like to wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
Thank you all for being part of TrailerTrax!
Kind regards,
Ricci Coughlin.daveydadParticipantThis just came from a mostly exclusive library I’ve done stuff for and is why I’m hesitant.
“Under no circumstance should you submit a track that is with a ‘content id’ company. This documentary contact sends Youtube and Vimeo videos to TV distributors. When a distributor accepts a video, it can be shown hundreds of times around the world and any music in the video receives performance royalties.”
daveydadParticipantI belonged to AdRev for a year but quit because several libraries I wanted to join didn’t want to hassle with placement conflicts. Don’t you think that would still be the case?
It was kind of fun to see how my music was being used, mostly in cheesy personal YT videos, but I didn’t really make much mula from it.
daveydadParticipantREELZ is a joke. I had many payments, too, and doubt they’ve added up to more than $5.
daveydadParticipantAnyone know how usage in prime time pays for History Channel? I recently had about 10 mins of music used in a 9pm special.
daveydadParticipantI had a track used in the 2014 French Open. Never saw a dime and still don’t know how they licensed the track. Maybe a RF site?
daveydadParticipantHmm, I know it’s not MIBE, they rejected that track! Might be Coney Island but why haven’t they caught the mistake yet?
daveydadParticipantAnother example of Tunesat’s inaccuracy. I had a cue used in a new prime time episode of Cole Case Files on March 13. Tunesat didn’t detect it until a rerun one week later.
daveydadParticipantI can’t find him. Maybe account was deleted?
daveydadParticipantHow did you discover this?
daveydadParticipantYeah, only those who get tens of thousands of streams make much.
