i still don’t get the appeal of this strategy. surely as a new composer the approach should be 1. try out getting into a few RF libraries or non-exclusive libraries. if you’re getting rejected by non-exclusive libraries then keep working on your craft. if you get accepted by every single non-exclusive library you apply too then it might be time to take a chance at some exclusives. next visit some exclusive libraries websites that specialize in what you do and submit your best 3 tracks to those libraries and see how you get on. Bingo, you’re in. and best of all, all, this method is all free of charge.
i really don’t understand where the [removed] company and similar needs to fit into this strategy.
DannycParticipantcan someone clarify me something about these services. are they only forwarding composers tracks to music libraries or are the making opportunities available where they are bypassing music libraries and sending your tracks directly to the music sups or editors of certain TV shows etc?
DannycParticipantCarles announced a while back on another forum that he was attempting to pursue music full time. hopefully we can be updated by him on his progress and wish him ever success.
DannycParticipant200%? so you mean if this was a normal 50/50 split with a library you would of seen 00:08= $17,79?
god i wouldnt of thought networks like CBS are using RF libraries. just presumed your RF libraries are more for your youtubers etc.
DannycParticipantit would be good if people could continue to add to this list, really nice information here. btw does anyone have an entry amount for CBS BG morning? Mark Petrie very kindly posted amounts for afternoon and primetime just curious about morning rate per minute if anyone has seen on their PRO statement?
DannycParticipantits veeerrrrry similar to philip glass but that’s not a bad thing at all. nice piece man π

What are your earnings expectations? #27993DannycParticipanti dont expect to make a living either and didnt grow up in the world where you actually could. my target would be to make $25k per year one day. that would mean i could live off my day job wages mortagage free. i’d be happy with that π

August 21, 2017 at 4:26 am in reply to: What's your number? What are your earnings expectations? #27983DannycParticipantin my opinion all tracks should tell a story to the listener. no matter how simple or short that story is. music is a language and a form of communicating directly with peoples emotions. if you can do that with your music then i think you are on the right path.

DannycParticipantyeah i have heard of numbers such as $150 per minute for the free to air channels ABC, CBS etc. but that would probably be primetime slots.
DannycParticipantor you could start working with libraries that do all the tagging for you. i know the thoughts of going back and doing all that metadata tagging on every track i upload makes me physically ill.
its a big relief not having to worry about this part of the creative process.
DannycParticipantfor anyone curious here is the track. the label were ok with me posting it on my soundcloud page although who knows how long soundcloud is going to be around for now π
