The only “promotion” I do is mentioning new albums on Twitter, Facebook and SoundCloud. But I really don’t know 100% where my buyers come from. Most tracks/albums are bought on iTunes than Amazon or CD Baby.

Have always used CD Baby and always opt out of Content ID etc etc.
daveydadParticipanti thought spotify paid 0.008 per stream? i average about 0.01 per play. my bmi statement wasn’t much better. no major tv shows and just a few cents here and there for lesser known channels (see below). my best and most consistent payout? pandora. and i make even more from them via soundexchange.
same cue played during primetime on discovery channel and on one of of its sub-channels. pathetic difference!

daveydadParticipantI get a lot of requests to hook up with folks… some are musicians, most are not. So far, nothing monetarily has come of it for me.
daveydadParticipantI did it. Was told by SE:
This will not affect your royalties from Pandora through SoundExchange or that of any other domestic licensees.
daveydadParticipantAnyone had payouts from Discovery’s “American Heroes Channel?”
daveydadParticipantI’ve had some cues used on Discovery Network that BMI paid me for but the detections never appeared in Tunesat. Any idea why?
daveydadParticipantTunesat is for TV channels only… now Soundproof may be another thing.
daveydadParticipantYep, direct deposit.
daveydadParticipantOverDub… What? I always get paid every quarter by BMI whether it’s $15 or $1500.
daveydadParticipantSaw this… so sad. Loved his music and it was an inspiration for me to learn how to compose.
daveydadParticipantWell, except for some very pathetic minor placements before, this was the first real statement for me. About 10 times more than before!! Thanks to some placements on Discovery.
