Mark and Michael, well said.
As long as what you can bring to the table is more rare, in high quality and hard to find, you can charge more. There is not so many guys composing amazing trailer cues as there are guys composing amazing hip hop tracks, it just the way it is. So right now, Hip Hop cues=free, trailer cues=20,000$ sync fees. And I am talking for experience, its like any other business. How many good brain surgeons there is? not so much, so they can charge more.
music_proParticipantMusic Writer, if you can have the same connections pump have, then go ahead and collect full publisher share and sync fees, good luck.

music_proParticipantThe problem is that audiosparx forbid you from selling on AJ, audiosparx can even do it? It is my copyright, right? And they do not have it in the agreement. And if they will put that in the agreement they will have to let me know and have me sign again, right?
music_proParticipantNothing new here. The model works.
music_proParticipantCan I ask what show did you watched?
music_proParticipantHey Art,

September 27, 2013 at 6:19 pm in reply to: Types/Styles Of Tracks in RF vs. Conventiional Libraries #12700music_proParticipantThanks Michael for your replay.
I think you guys got a point. All my tracks are hip hop and dance and less then 2 min and I dont really sell good on RF, but really good at broadcast.
And about the sad thing, I did heard some sad stuff on reality TV, but more into the emotional sad. This is happens when someone lose to someone else or get kicked out of the house/competition but yes, overall, they dont get used a lot at all. And what is the most easiest thing to write? Sad (maybe it is just me)
September 27, 2013 at 11:17 am in reply to: Types/Styles Of Tracks in RF vs. Conventiional Libraries #12683music_proParticipantDo you guys think a 1:30 tracks as a full version will work in RF? Beacuse I tend to think that the RF customers like longer full versions since they are not good at editing and cant make the track longer. I know that 1:30 will work well in broadcast since they can edit (Although I heard some really nasty edits on air) and most often than not 1:30 is more than enough for most placements.
music_proParticipantEuca, It was instrumental, thanks.
music_proParticipantLol, sorry, what is your bank account number? 🙂
music_proParticipantI noticed something positive. I got amazing royalty rate for HGTV!! did BMI finnaly cut a deal with them? I’ve got 200$ for 52 seconds, BI, one airing…strange.
music_proParticipantAt least you got the money 🙂
music_proParticipantNo, the title registered by the non exclusive company will stay forever under their publishing company for the placements they managed to secure for you. If you pull out that track from the non exclusive company and sign it to an exclusive one, then the exclusive one re-title the track or just revice your original title.
music_proParticipantThe music need to fit the picture. It can be the worst sounding and low quality track but still fit the picture.
