Worse again, this is the artists own music, not game related
woodsdenisParticipantI’ll give you my spin on VEPRO, because I’m a MAC Pro user. I’m sure Denis will add his experiences. Right now, I’m using VEPRO on a single MAC Pro with DP8 (because my second MAC more or less died). VEPRO allows me to host all of my VIs outside DP. Even though DP is 64 bit, I find the hosting in VEPRO still lightens the load on the CPU.
+1 not as vital as it used to be in 32 bit land. The big advantage for serious templates is that if you set it up right you load all your Kontakt/Play libs in it once and it maintains your template when you switch DAW sessions. Also it works consistently better on one machine setups than hosting in the DAW itself.
woodsdenisParticipantWhile I am here, VE Pro is an option you might consider too, especially if you are using a lot of sample based stuff.

in the same vein.
woodsdenisParticipantHi Dan and welcome.
If on a Mac be wary of East West Play stuff, great sounding but can cause issues. If on PC it works great.
If I was to get the definitive string library AND I could afford it Lass would be my choice, however the field changes all the time. 8Dio have a new ensemble library ‘”Adagietto” which may worth looking at.
The only omission as far as trailer percussion would be Heavyocity Damage which set the standard for hybrid sounds.
Check out the Daniel James youtube channel, he reviews all of this stuff.
woodsdenisParticipantInteresting , seems like Google etc are getting annoyed with the countless take down notices emninating from copyright holders. Interestingly Daniel James just shared this vid.
in which music was detected in a video and claimed by multiple sources. Clearly a mistake, because there no music at all in it.Its a holiday video on a beach !!!!
The alarming issue is , that if you dispute a copyright claim on Youtube and are ruled against 3 times your Youtube account is taken down. Because this video is a non profit holiday vid he left it alone and didn’t claim, even if it was a no brainer.
It seems ironic that Google/Youtube on one hand support the Lenz case, and on the other let this kind of thing happen ( 13 separate claimants) and then have really punitive consequences if the case goes against you.
I would love to know what the Youtube algo actually thought the song was ?
Also for Michael, seeing as this take down is automated , surely the alleged copyright holders should have to verify that its legit rather than letting it go. How does this fact square up to what is happening with the Lenz case. To quote the article in relation to D James example “Abusive and unfounded takedown notices interfere with an OSP’s business, can silence valuable free expression, and can constitute harassment of an OSP’s users,”
woodsdenisParticipantThis requires kontact?
Yep, and watch out a lot of the newer libraries require Kontakt 5.3 which I think doesnt run on Snow leopard.
woodsdenisParticipantThis is quite literally my back yard. Why would I trade all this for the stress and hassle of a big city?
Thats just a cruel thing to do to us Northern hemisphere dwellers LOL
woodsdenisParticipantTo the newbies and hobbyists: I would advise NOT leaving your day job to compose library music.
Silly over generalisation, in Ireland if that stream were made up from pro payments it would be tax free for example. In the Eastern Europe the average wage is much smaller than Western Europe. I could go on.
woodsdenisParticipantThere is a lot of bloat in it however IMO the Vienna stuff is good, Studio Drummer and Vintage organs are nifty. That being said the factory stuff is way superseded by 3rd party libraries. Is Kontakt worth it at half price, absolutely. Its really the only game in town for sample libraries that has widespread support.
woodsdenisParticipantoops just in time, Happy Thanksgiving to all over the pond.
woodsdenisParticipantNative Instruments 50% off lots of stuff.
woodsdenisParticipantSoundtoys are having 45% off a lot of their plugs
woodsdenisParticipantI would have thought that if you are a member of a PRO, making your percentage a part of the writers share would be easier and less hassle.
I know its different in the States, over here you can just assign a percentage of the total (7.5 % in your) case as an arranger for example.
woodsdenisParticipantRX 3 advanced is the gold standard bundle when it comes to audio repair. Remember Cedar , what happened to them ?
The other Zynaptiq plugs look amazing too but just do the one thing very well. The Pitchmap selling point to me is the midi input revoicing
I have a bunch of old synth loops which I completely changed the chordal structure on with minimal artefacts , also doing it in real time with the track is brill. The downside of this tech is as you mentioned, let’s hope AK doesn’t see this as a new way of theft. -
