In my experience stay away from anything Scripps.

HGTV, DIY, Food Network, etc… All direct license AFIK. Also I don’t think ESPN pays any back end. Someone will correct me if things have changed at those networks.

Can I get some feedback on the pros and cons of Tunesat?

I have picked up some extra money by comparing my Tunesat detections against my BMI statement. The downside is that it takes a lot of time to go through the reconciliation process.

BTW I don’t find it a particular problem that I have non-exclusives in my Tunesat account.

Thanks ARt; I’ll contact ASCAP Monday.

Not sure why you would say that. Doesn’t matter if your music is exclusive or non-exclusive with Tunesat.

Like she said above, an exclusive track will be easier to track. If I knew what library placed the cue, then I could contact them, but that cue is in over 40 libraries.

    Have you tried contacting ASCAP?

I understand now to only register exclusive cues with TuneSat

Zack’s dad (Lou) and I go back a long way and there’s a lot to the story (not all of it public). A very talented guy as well as his dad. Here’s a post from Lou a while back.

Looks like comments made by “#tag” now shows my name. Weird, working on it.

Changed “#tag” comments to “Anonymous”. WordPress does not like the “#” in a commenter’s name. Who is ever using please stop as it screws things up.

Interesting in that Chris Woods COO, TuneSat LLC is involved. I think Mark Lewis might weigh in on this. He seems to have a handle on all of the ramifications of the YouTube Content ID program.

It most likely would only be an issue if it was huge moneymaker and someone thought they had a case. But, I am not a lawyer. MichaelL might have some more to say on the subject.

    What does the library say?

    Hello Richard,
the good news is that your tracks are not really that close to Philip Glass’ style. They are way more thematic that Glass would ever do and have probably a much broader appeal.
The next question would be what are your sales expectations. If they’re high then you’d probably have to record some real instruments to raise their production value.
