    Hello there Rick/LunarP!

You are actually. “Very Close”, just needs “A Few things”..

“Playability” is very much there, but “it sounds like the work mixes you take home from the studio to see where you are going in the mix; or what is needed to round it all out”..

Everything from a “Mix Stand-Point is not effected nearly enough, and not separating enough to make each sound signature”. You have some good stuff, that just needs to sound more “Lush, and Luxurious”

Also, You are very “groovy and have good rhythm”. You need some “Signature lines that make you know what part of the track/cue you are in”. In other words “YOU need Musical Hooks!!”

Stretch more with your effects, “make them Spacey, Luxurious, and Groovy like your moods!!”

    Any other suggestions?

No offense, but it looks poorly made. As well, you will need Speaker Stands, and a Keyboard stand. I would not suggest putting your Keyboard on that lower surface..

    Questions:
    1) Have you tried your local Craigslist to see if someone has a “Music, Midi/Control Surface Workstation Stand”?

    2) Have you tried Ebay?

I think you can get something really nice, and more to suit your needs if you think about “Pre-owned” (like that a lot better than saying second hand.lol)

OK. Here goes.. I am one of those “Solid B+ Composers with full albums, and tracks in some Top Tier Libraries”. Understanding that because “The Bar has been set so low with the influx of un-seasoned writers; it is making it harder for music to be heard by The Top Tier Libraries”. I will send you a PM, with a link to my work, and you let me know I should give this a shot. It’s not like you’re asking a lot of money, it’s just the principle..

I will keep a look out to see how this develops. I never say never..

This does however seem to me to be a “FMN, X-Ray, etc” with just another “spin on the wordplay” to make it “seem” like something more than just a “Pat-to-submit””..

The twin is new to me. Correct me if I’m wrong, it is a D/A interface and has high quality dual preamps?

Brother, It’s Universal Audio, and it’s Damn Good!!

Hello Pike60, if you can stay “In The Box” for your processing. I would say The “Universal Audio Apollo Twin MKII” is what you need!

With the price, I would also grab a “Rode NTK-Classic!!

I used a AT-5050 for years (very underrated mic) before grabbing U87’s (2) and a U67., The Rode is my go-to workhorse!!

Also, The Warm Audio WA-273 is a great product, but if I’m not mistaken it’s not a Interface..

    1) How many inputs are you looking at?
    2) Complete Channel Strip, or simply Preamp?
    3) Tube, or Mosfet/Integrated Circuit?
    4) What Interface are you using, or are you looking for a combo to replace your existing I/O?

    Hmmm, I’m not sure..

I would say to try the Non-Exclusives Libraries, and see who bites.

If you look in the “MLR 475+ Libraries section” and set the filters; it will give you a list. Read the reviews, get in contact, and ,are sure you follow their FAQ’s requirements for submitting music/cues.

Also, with a Baseline, and “Trap Styled Drums”, Haunted Mansion could be a Hip Hop placement. Just saying..

Hello to all. I think one of the biggest things that the more seasoned Writers, and Composers will tell the newer Production Music Suppliers is..

The key to a successful career is not only numbers; but writing quality, well thought out, and well mixed Music!!

4000 Tracks if they are not good enough to compete in the marketplace means “Nothing”..

This is about “having passion, taking pride in your work, and realizing your dreams of making a living at music by turning in High-end Quality Product!!”

Also, to answer your question my friend LAwriter. Yes, I am referring to “placements that have a cue sheet attached to them”. And no, Netflix, Hulu, Youtube do not count for me.LOL

Hello Brian, have you posted your music/tracks up on a site for review? Hearing the quality of your work will give a better answer as to where to start “shopping for potential Libraries”.

    If I might..

I am not sure why this “1000 tracks number seems to be equated to success”.

I have less than 120 tracks in circulation, and I’m averaging 700-1000 placements a year..

This is about getting into great, and well connected Libraries/Catalogs that get you to these numbers. “It takes Great Compositions/Tracks to get into these Libraries”..

Also, the real money does not come from a bunch of tracks getting used for 5-10-15 seconds, as ambiguous filler. It comes from tracks that are interesting enough to command 60-90 to 2 minutes (and more) of usage, and bringing a much bigger cue rate.

1000 tracks, can also mean “1000 Unique Titles” and some can be the same 250-500 tracks being re-titled in various libraries..

Looks like I was WAY off in my thinking, and had a completely different take on this. Thanks for clearing that up LAWriter, and Art. I personally do not want/need any of these types of deals!!

    Good morning everyone.

Here is the main question: Have you done your research to see what their library has done, who some of their clients are; and found information on their marketshare?

I am in a few Libraries that “Used to” break off a portion of the Licensing/Sync Fees quarterly; in addition to my back-end PRO earnings. It was fun to see those little “bumps”. But if they are feeling that it’s an action they needed to exercise (it was a clause that is in most contracts) I look at the overall relationship, and if this may be something they need to do to “survive”.

If it looks like they will get you the placements, and keep you busy; I would say that’s more important than holding out for sync fees..

    WOW!!

    Do I hear defeat?

Look, “unless you are doing some type of Throwback Music where you don’t have to compete with YOUR Contemporaries; You’re gonna need to keep your tools up to date, and in pristine condition!!”

I believe in me, I believe in my product; and I am ALWAYS looking for my next, latest, greatest way to get even better!!

Shut, I constantly have my eye on more tools for My Tool-Box, and techniques/ways to make my product even better!!
