Yes, I think 1:40-2:30 is the best range to go for. No less then 1:30 for sure as Rob said.

Tbone, there is a reason why we call libraries on public posts only in their first letter. So, please edit.

EMusicMan@, congrats! Can I ask approximately how many tracks you have out there and in what genres? Thanks!

More advice, 100% with you on that.
I can understand that they done like it but yes, they just have to deal with that if they want “free” music. Now, as long as there will be exclusive companies getting started or non-ex libraries changing their biz model to exclusive, the editors will stay “spoiled”. They will get free and exclusive music, what a deal, good for them.
But I tell you what, if your music is really good and really good for the scene, they will handle hearing it from two different sources.

AshWeller, if you only know what strange publishing company names are out there…I mean…its funny.

And I am talking about universal and some serious companies, its just a name. For example the publishing company for the TV series “Pokemon” called “Pikachu Music”, this is Pikachu: https://www.google.co.il/search?q=Pikachu&sa=X&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&ei=JqbHUZytDM3ltQbIv4DwDg&ved=0CDYQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=643

Good luck Art, although sometime they fill out cue sheets late.
I received a royalties from Sundance channel about a year and a half to two years after broadcast! By the way, not worth the waiting 🙂

You right MichaelL, a lot is cable and a few syndicated shows. I wish I had more CBS/NBC/ABC type of placements.

    Desire_Inspires, its ASCAP, not you…just kidding 🙂

How many tracks you have in your catalog?

By the way, I think its pennies compered to what I know some good library composers make (100-150K range a year).

Thanks. Sorry to hear that Art. Royalties is some kind of a lottery, and a low paying one. We are in the mercy of Music sups, editors etc.
The market is getting flooded with new music every day from composers around the world, royalty rates is going down and now this all exclusive-non-exclusive thing.

Maybe maybe, but I think most big trailers get played about at same throughout the world, anyway, yes it is the high end side of things.

Yes, I understand this too, but the real question is how much royalties you can get from a typical major release 🙂
