I wanted to point everyone to a particular article over on The Trichordist(a very good site in it’s own right). This pertains to the illegal downloading of music for free and how it affects the artists. <a href="http://thetrichordist.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/letter-to-emily-white-at-npr-all-songs-considered/"
Steve B.GuestOkay, that was a failed link. Here is the link:

MIchaelLGuestAnd here\’s her original blog, in which she describes taking 11,000 songs, more or less, without remorse.

I know that I sound like an old codger, but how did \”young\” people come about thinking that music is free?
Steve B.GuestThanks for providing that link. I’m no spring chicken either Michael. I’m sure there are several theories out there as to how it started.
Loved the “Legally obligated to issue this order: Kids, Lawn, Vacate.”
I put this in the Newbie because I wanted this to serve a sort of a warning to bands or artists getting in to this business. I also believe that this is relevant to being a composer, with the advent of the Youtube licensing. I believe that this is going to bubble over in to the world of composers and companies taking further advantage of us by not paying or not properly paying for our work.
