I’ve been doing this for about 7 years now, Being semi-retired I can spend time writing, mixing, etc every day. I have it down to pretty much a routine where I write and record one day, and mix, master the next day. I’ve tried doing both the same day, but I get too much ear fatigue.
I’m able to write and submit about 4 tracks per week. I really don’t spend too much time on them. Maybe a couple of hours writing and recording, and a couple of hours doing post-production, tagging, submitting, and editing.
Because I have the time to do it, I now have over 1000 tracks in my catalog.
I guess I’m old school like Art. Always use LCR on all of my tracks. The melody, if there is one is always center, as are drums and bass. For orchestral tracks I pan the way you are looking at an orchestra. Stage view on all others.

Back end was up but RF sales were the worst I have had in the almost 7 years I’ve been doing this. Down over 30% from last year.
I’ve been at this for a little over 6 years, mostly on RF sites. Things were pretty steady until this year. My RF sales have dropped off but PRO payments through BMI have increased nicely. I have only 1 RF site that I am getting consistent sales through even though I am with quite a few. Things are changing with much more competition out there.
Best for me as well. Most of it came from International. Nice surprise!
This payout was one of the best for me in the few years that I have been receiving PRO payments.
I have an early 2011 13 notebook as well and have been thinking of doing the same. It is definitely cheaper than buying a new one. Thanks for the suggestion.

I’ve used Pro Tools just a handful of times. I switched from Cubase to Logic about 6 years ago, and am now using Logic Pro X. For what I do, it works very well for me.
