Having been in this biz for over 3 years now, I’ve joined quite a number of libraries and had music placed by them, even custom composing specifically for briefs for some of them. Many have gotten me placements that have done pretty well – Discovery, Oxygen, CBS, etc. But then I I realize never hear from some of these libraries again.
I will email them asking how things are and they’ll say they’re busy. When I inquire if they need more music they usually say they have enough. Just wondering if complete lack of action from libraries you once had action with is a common thing?
One library I placed many tracks with for retail store use finally told me this week (after I asked) that I made $186 in royalties last quarter after more than 2 years of nothing.
