Love this forum, it has helped me tremendously.
I’ve been composing part time for about 10 years, but I am finally going to make it my full time career. (If possible.)I have been a music editor on major motion pictures for the decade, and that really let me see things from the other side. (How to work with editors, directors, how to pitch music, how music is selected and so forth.)
I have a personal connection to a regional cable network. What would be a reasonable sync & master use license fee structure to ask for each cue? I know it’s all “what you can get, negotiable,” etc. but I need to know more about current market rates in order to be prepared when negotiating. Also, how do you normally create multiple use rates…is there a formula for that?
