Does your music on Spotify or other streaming services earn enough to pay for placing the music on those streaming services…. and or have you ever gotten a placement through a streaming service ?

personally i feel this is more a route to go if you are following the artist path, trying to gain fans, trying to go viral on ticktock etc. it really only makes sense if your end goal is to compel people to pay money to go see your live gigs as a performing artist. otherwise if you’re looking for placements then stick to the traditional route of working through music libraries.

Songtradr is an interesting option you might look into. The Free membership level allows unlimited distribution for one artist, they take 10% of streaming royalties. They have a sync service also, where they take 40% of “net” license fees, but you keep the entire PRO income. They have other monetization programs as well. This would give you a way to get your music out to the streaming services without having to pay anything up front.
