“To my knowledge Scripps Networks (HGTV, Food Network, etc.) have never paid back end royalties, but are instead ‘buy out’.”
Generally true but we have music on “Love It Or List It” and it pays very well. One cue, two episodes last BMI statement, $157.86. It’s been running for the last couple of years. Why? I have no idea.

Art MunsonKeymasterThanks michal, fixed the last updated column.
Art MunsonKeymasterThanks for the feedback Kubed. I’m liking the wider design but easy enough to change if I need to. As for scrolling: One of the issues Google complained about was readability, particularly on mobile. The font size is now larger and there is more space between each line and these are all adjustable. Hopefully more people will chime in with feedback.
Art MunsonKeymasterI wondered, would a workaround be to not register public domain tracks with BMI?
At this point, I register our PDs with BMI and most of them have been placed on TV shows.
Art MunsonKeymasterHave you tried sending them the link to YouTube to verify? They already know the same episode aired on CBS.
Art MunsonKeymasterJust got another couple of checks for Neighboring Rights Royalties. One for myself and one for Robin. We use Rident Royalties but there a number of companies that will collect for you. Don’t leave money on the table!

Art MunsonKeymasterThe one feature I use the most is tagging multiple files using a text file. I build all of the metadata, from my database, into an Excel spreadsheet. That gets dumped into a text file which I use in MP3Tag. I can do hundreds of files at a time that way, very convenient. I use Cakewalk also but have never explored that capability.
Art MunsonKeymasterI’m now using MP3Tag. Really powerful. https://www.mp3tag.de/en/
Art MunsonKeymasterThat hasn’t been my experience. I’ve only been with Identifyy for about 6 months and haven’t had any problems. I can also say that my income had jumped exponentially from what I was getting from AdRev. No complaints here.

June 15, 2022 at 6:15 pm in reply to: Can I Re-record a song signed exclusive with a new arrangement? #39838Art MunsonKeymasterI wouldn’t go down that path unless it’s explicitly laid out, in the exclusive contract, that you can.
Art MunsonKeymasterIs there an easy way to find which libraries are looking for a specific genre of music?
The music library doesn’t work that way. You will find that the majority of libraries want (and have) a wide variety of genres.
This is a long game. It’s marathon not a sprint!
