Are you using Licensequote.com for your personal site, or totally custom site?
I’ve been working on my site for a few years all within the context of WordPress. It’s cost me about $1200 so far and that’s only because there were two things I could not achieve with off the shelf plugins. Grouping mixes and saving multiple playlists. It could be done without those options and cost maybe $100 or so.
I have been playing with licensequote and integrating that into my site but right now I’m using the eStore plugin. I still have lots more to do and I’m saving the “look” for last but it’s functioning fairly well. You can check it out here http://www.TuneGorilla.com (music you’ll go ape over, hah!).
Still, Mark’s idea sounds great and I might go that route when available.
Art MunsonKeymasterToo much MIDI=No soul / no emotion.
I’m always amused when someone makes sweeping statements with the implication that they are the final word on the subject.
Art MunsonKeymasterHi Wildman, it’s a license to use a piece of music (or a whole catalog of music) with no upfront license fee. The only money being made will be on the back end PRO payments. So, it would only be given if the music was to be used for broadcast.
Art MunsonKeymasterOne more thing. Personally, I would stay away from pay to play sites.
Art MunsonKeymaster@kingseamus: I have removed the link and changed your topic title as we don’t get into “Pay To Play” sites on MLR. Early on I did allow them but they quickly turned into flame wars and threats of legal action from one notable company.

The project files, DAW, plugins, backups AND the computer created on. I started in 2005 and can go back to just about everything (a couple of things have disappeared). Currently I dual boot Win XP and Win 7 (separate OS drives). Getting ready for a new computer and will dual boot that but will save my current one until I get it all transferred.
Art MunsonKeymasterGreat idea Mark and sorely needed!
Art MunsonKeymasterOzone has a very steep learning curve to use effectively, at least for me. I’ve followed the tutorial and much of it eludes me. Some of the changes are to subtle to my old ears.
Still looking for the “Magic” button mastering plug in. LOL!
Art MunsonKeymasterYou most likely have to enter any particular library through https://musiclibraryreport.com/access-music-libraries/ to have access to the comments.
Art MunsonKeymasterNo problem, I took care of it. Better way though, is to contact me directly through the contact link in menu. Thanks for letting me know!
Art MunsonKeymasterLast night we watched Netflix’s production of “House Of Cards” and was once again struck by Jeff Beal’s composing skills. Great stuff IMHO.
Art MunsonKeymasterI’ve been working on my own site for the last few years and finally almost have it ready to go. My main challenge was to see how much I could do myself. I finally had to opt to get some programming help on a couple of features I just could not figure out.
Mark Petrie recently launched his site and hopefully he will weigh in.
Art MunsonKeymasterYes, I was aware of that as I have a friend who has a small label and he gets “lots” of micro cents. LOL! I guess the best way to play it is to buy stock in Pandora as it’s publicly traded.
Art MunsonKeymasterBarbie… honestly I think the self-promotion post you made was going a little far.
AB, I happen to agree with you.
Art MunsonKeymasterI was impressed by the music in the PBS documentary “The Botany of Desire”, based on the book by Michael Pollen. The composer was Martin Bresnick.
