Art MunsonKeymaster
He’s known as a person that trolls and casues havoc.
Some think he’s our old “friend” yagdu, who was kicked off of here. If so and he acts up, he will be banned.
Art MunsonKeymasterWhat is “FP”?
I was wondering that also.
Art MunsonKeymasterYou speak different on this forum. On FP you are the guy that causes havoc.
“Havoc” on MLR = Banishment!
Art MunsonKeymasterAwesome story.
This has probably been happening for a long time now. I stopped working with a library that I suspect has been using my music without cue sheets being used. I found out through a survey that some of my music was being used for aย popular cable TV show. Iย called up the producer of the show to get more info. He told me which library he thought sent him the cues.
Unfortunately, the situation was never resolved and I have not been paid for those usages. But I have had more success with other companies. I cannot worry about it. I learned my lesson and now I am moving on.
Art MunsonKeymasterI am jealous!
No, I am with ASCAP and got a little money for my publisher’s share. Writer’s share will be coming in about two weeks.
Congrats to you BMI writers.
Art MunsonKeymasterCue sheets were late for CBS’s “Let’s Make A Deal”. So if you had things on that show they will most likely show up next quarter.
Art MunsonKeymasterSame here. A rousing quarter all the way around and best ever!

Unfortunately there is no easy way to move this thread so I’m closing it. Please go here for future comments: https://musiclibraryreport.com/m-to-m/musiccult/.
September 17, 2012 at 2:10 pm in reply to: well known site to be giving out gratis licenses 4 tv – should I be skeptical? #6754Art MunsonKeymasterI have a silly question: What is the purpose of MusicCult.com?
I really do not understand the point of signing with MusicCult if I already have songs with AudioSparx. What would be the difference between the two sites besides a different web address? It looks like all if the songs and info from AudioSparx would be on the other site too. What is the benefit to composers for signing up on both sites?
September 17, 2012 at 4:12 am in reply to: well known site to be giving out gratis licenses 4 tv – should I be skeptical? #6742Art MunsonKeymasterThere are too many variables to make an informed decision one way or another. Since you cannot reveal the name of the company or the email you got, I cannot take your words for face value. I am not calling you a liar, but there could be some misinterpretation on your part.
It sounds like this deal is not one that you would participate in anyway, so you should not even worry about it. Each individual composer will have to weigh the pros and cons and make the best decision for himself/herself. It just seems weird that you would jump to conclusions and panic about something that doesn’t even affect you.
Should you be skeptical? Absolutely not.
Art MunsonKeymasterSocial networking does not seem very useful for me. It is easier for me to just contact the libraries themselves. I have a simple Soundcloud page to send links to songs that I have to companies.
Much of the newer social media sites are just a waste of time. Sure, people come together and talk, but no real business is being handled. There are just too many pontificators, speculators, and haters out there to make solid connections.
Most people I have encountered have been either nice & unfocused or successful & arrogant. People are always trying to sell stuff too. So many people are collecting email addresses to sell you books or “music services”. It is better for me to focus on the music and then push it out straight to music libraries.
Art MunsonKeymasterCool, thanks!
Art MunsonKeymasterJust heard back from Jackie at BMI and she is looking into it.
Art MunsonKeymasterNone for me. Got me to thinking so I checked BMI’s site. They don’t mention CC but I e-mailed Jackie Simmons, who is the contact for promos at BMI, and asked her if they ever would. Her e-mail jsimmons [at] bmi [dot] com.
Art MunsonKeymasterHas to be totally illegal. I hope Sony goes after him.
