Knee surgery – Down but not out!

Day 1 – 10-26-2011

Been having a problem with one knee for the last year and it blew out about three weeks ago. Had surgery today so I might be slow in getting back to people and keeping up with my e-mail. Just wanted to let everyone know that I’m not ignoring anyone if they are trying to get in touch.

Day 2 – 10-27-2011

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. It’s been a hell of a last 24 hours but I’m hanging in there.

Back to the couch and catching up on old Brit shows “Frost” and “House Of Cards”. My English roots run deep!

Day 3 – 10-28-2011

Up early and feeling pretty good. Thank God for Robin. She is an angel and spoiling me big time. This would be tough to do without someone tending to you, especially the first couple of days.

Thanks again for everyone’s good wishes!

Day 4 – 10-29-2011

Feeling pretty good. Knee gets better every day so I will retire this thread soon. Thanks again everyone for your kind words.

    • I hope you have some LEFTOVER pain meds too and share with your friends!! 😉

Seriously, best wishes for a speedy recovery, Art. I hear it’s a tough one but the results are usually excellent.

      🙂

      • Actually haven’t needed any pain meds since right after the surgery. They hit me with Morphine, Demerol and Dilaudid. Went home a couple of hours later and got sick as a dog. Since then haven’t needed anything. Today is day three, I’m up early and feeling pretty good.

        Thanks again for everyone’s concern.

      • I used to jog but at some point I could sense that my knees were starting to feel the effects of it, so I started walking and biking instead – much easier on the knees! I know runners who ended up with knee problems – that’s why I asked. Get well!

  1. Get well soon Art! Can’t keep us old guys done for long. We’re made from the original cast iron mold. Much more durable than those modern plastic molds. lol
