Art, what if the promos appear on Numerator with an ad code? Can you send it to ASCAP/BMI along with the video as proof to get paid? I have around 20-30 promos that have ran on Fox News and Fox Business.
Haven not heard of promos with an ad code. Call the commercial dept in Nashville and ask them. They are usually very responsive.
May 10, 2022 at 7:43 am in reply to: Libraries with a particular interest in solo jazz piano? #39720Art MunsonKeymasterDoes anyone know of libraries that would be specifically interested in solo jazz piano?
I believe that most libraries would want a broad range of genres so their catalog would appeal to a wider range of potential clients.
Art MunsonKeymasterDoes it make sense to have the same track in both a non-exclusive PRO library and in a Royalty-Free library?
I have been doing for years.
Art MunsonKeymasterSeems okay for me.
May 9, 2022 at 7:09 am in reply to: How much to charge someone to use my music as an intro for their podcast #39712Art MunsonKeymasterA lot would depend on how popular the podcast is. Anywhere from $50 to $1k?
As for a contract check this out:

April 19, 2022 at 11:20 am in reply to: Licenses and Legal Issues when creating your library website #39693Art MunsonKeymaster1. How to agree on what kind of license they are buying? Is it part of the site or a conversation?
I would make it part of the functionality of the store site (I don’t do that on ours).
2. How do they receive your important information (contact info, BMI/ASCAP account number so you get royalties)? Do you send them a pdf? Include the metadata in your audio file?
It’s included in the invoice they receive from us.
3. Did you consult a lawyer beforehand? Why?
No, poked around other sites to see what their terms of service were and created my own. They can’t check out until agreeing to them.

Art MunsonKeymasterBump.
Art MunsonKeymasterI wouldn’t worry about it as long as they are placing your music. They may very well be overwhelmed with submissions or spending their time pitching their catalog for placements.
Art MunsonKeymasterThere are no rules. If the back end is decent tell them 50% of the original or just try for the original fee.
Art MunsonKeymasterBump
Art MunsonKeymasterThanks Orca, for the kind words.
Art MunsonKeymasterI’ve definitely been looking into Soundmouse. Are there any downsides or reasons not to put your music in there? Have you found it helpful?
No downsides that I know of but too soon to tell if helpful.
Art MunsonKeymasterI’m in Soundmouse and BMAT.
