Just got another couple of checks for Neighboring Rights Royalties. One for myself and one for Robin. We use Rident Royalties but there a number of companies that will collect for you. Don’t leave money on the table!

Art MunsonKeymasterThe one feature I use the most is tagging multiple files using a text file. I build all of the metadata, from my database, into an Excel spreadsheet. That gets dumped into a text file which I use in MP3Tag. I can do hundreds of files at a time that way, very convenient. I use Cakewalk also but have never explored that capability.
Art MunsonKeymasterI’m now using MP3Tag. Really powerful. https://www.mp3tag.de/en/
Art MunsonKeymasterThat hasn’t been my experience. I’ve only been with Identifyy for about 6 months and haven’t had any problems. I can also say that my income had jumped exponentially from what I was getting from AdRev. No complaints here.

June 15, 2022 at 6:15 pm in reply to: Can I Re-record a song signed exclusive with a new arrangement? #39838Art MunsonKeymasterI wouldn’t go down that path unless it’s explicitly laid out, in the exclusive contract, that you can.
Art MunsonKeymasterIs there an easy way to find which libraries are looking for a specific genre of music?
The music library doesn’t work that way. You will find that the majority of libraries want (and have) a wide variety of genres.
This is a long game. It’s marathon not a sprint!
June 14, 2022 at 10:23 am in reply to: Self publishing to streaming services & non-exclusive libraries? #39830Art MunsonKeymasterAs long as you own all the rights it shouldn’t be a problem. I, and others, do exactly that.
Art MunsonKeymasterI wouldn’t expect the music sup to ask for the publishing share but it might be a deal breaker. I would make it non-exclusive and re-title the music so they only get the publishing royalties on those titles.
Art MunsonKeymasterI would have to disagree with the Taxi comment. I joined them three different times over the couple of decades they have been around. I never found it useful but YMMV.
I generally don’t let MLR get involved in Taxi discussions as I have learned it can quickly descend into chaos.
Art MunsonKeymasterAnother quick way to find the latest comments.
https://musiclibraryreport.com/more-library-comments/. The link is also on the left hand margin of every page.
Art MunsonKeymasterOne other thing. I just got rid of the nested comments. It can get confusing as sometimes people will respond to the wrong comment. Let me know what you think. I’m also thinking of getting rid of the “paging” of comments. That might be more of a problem as some libraries have over a thousand comments.
Art MunsonKeymasterOkay guys, you spoke, I listened. Dates are back on library comments!
