    • I looked at the licensing terms on Melody Pods but couldn’t find a reference that are selling the copyright. Only that they were licensing the music non-exclusively. Maybe I missed it.

      • I’m reading more links on the Melody Pond site. I think he’s confusing Non-PRO registered with not copyrighted.

What they are selling is PRO-free music, which is a whole different kettle of fish.

    • Hi, this is Guy from Background Music Library. I had an email conversation with MichaelL about his concern with Background Music Library.

I had one artist who wanted to sell his copyright, in fact, he wanted to sell all his music and retire. So I offered to help him. That was his choice as he had accumulated a large library of music and hoped it would help finance his retirement.

The page that mentioned selling music copyrights listed only this artist’s music and no one else’s obviously. There was never any reference to sell anyone else’s copyright other than that single artist who had asked me for help.

For details about Melody Pods which is a service providing in-store background music for business please click the following link: http://www.melodypods.com/background-music-library-submissions.html

  1. Art…it appears that Background Music Library has been closed so that its owner can focus on his other library…Ambient Music Garden.

  2. Anyone have opinions on this kind of deal? Seems kind of like an Ambient Music Garden type library. Couldn’t find any ins for submitting and not sure I want to yet. Would like some opinions on their performance royalty (or lack of it)thing.

    • Hi Pat.

Background Music Library is owned by Ambient Music Garden. If you have already submitted to AMG, you have submitted to BML.

      Cheers,

      Michael

      • Just went back and checked the email where I was accepted by Ambient Music Garden. You’re right they have Background Music, also RadioGaia.com royalty free Music.fm and also Electronic-Music-Library.com.
Guy told me my music would fit with a few of their libraries.
Fortunately, none of them are on the Audiosparx bad list. lol
        Thanks
        Pat
