FWIW – I’ve never had a problem getting a SUL and never saw it as a barrier, but I don’t tend to buy construction kit format, more groupings of a single instrument. Then again, it will be nice not to have the extra step.

I don’t buy construction kits and I understand why they specifically would be included , my issue was that it included everything they did which is daft.

Never used them because of this silliness, and I wasn’t in the market for construction kits ( which asi undertand the reasoning for ) just normal libraries. I did email them once and never got a reply. The boat has sailed on this I fear.

I’ve been told two different ways by people who have more experience than I.

Last note at 28.5 – 29 and ring out to exactly 30.

Last note no later than 29.5 and ring out past 30 so editor control the out.

I’ve licensed cues using both methods.

Some countries require shorter lengths, a 30 sec commercial is in fact 29 sec of sound etc so they cover all eventualities. As for edit timings most DAWS allow you to do this. I can only reference ProTools and Cubase for this but most DAWs do this.

Use the Ruler track and set it to seconds or SMPTE and then set the timecode offset to start at 00.00.00.00 at the start of your track. Usually done by setting the playback cursor at the required position and changing the SMPTE time to start there. You will then see exactly how long 30/29/28.5 secs is in your song timeline.

Don’t know wether this is relevant but there is a delay in ASCAP payments coming through here to Ireland due to some issue in Ascap. Maybe it is affecting other territories.

Go to Native access and run it and it will reindex your libraries according to NI. Edit that doesn’t work here !!!!!!

This does, read Mike Greene’s post

    2) a subwoofer is mono (yes?) so I would only use the left or right output (either one?) of CA’s output three. Is that correct?

Not really, the sub is the summed signal below a certain frequency. So if for example you had a very wide stereo bass sound, that setup would just give you one side . Some subs take the whole stereo signal and do the crossover internally, then feeding the stereos . Ideally you would want to be able to turn it off ? Yamaha used to do a sub that was specifically for use with NS 10s, pretty good actually.

I would have thought it is more normal to have contracts signed before release, but if its only a few days difference IDK. I am not a lawyer, however if MichaelL wants to comment on this one.

Its digital release, not a physical one I assume. The question is how long after delivery are they going to release it ?

There is a question of balance , absolutely revisit old tracks and update them, but don’t get obsessive and nitpicking or you will never get anything done. Also spend time away from tracks. I don’t know how many times I think I have created a masterpiece, only to revisit it a while later and have a WTF was I thinking moment. Don’t forget composers are much more tuned into the minutia of a track and sometimes miss the big picture, IMHO of course.

I have got PRO from AudioSparx and Musicloops that I know of, difficult to know about the others.AS is easy because of retitling and ML because the track only ever sold there and made quite a bit of PRO.
