The contract does not bother me but where are you getting the information from with this comment?
“They wonโt allow you to remove your music from Content ID unless you sell the copyright off.”
Link please?

I think you have it right but I really don’t know. I have tracks with those same companies and I still want my music in Identifyy. I think of it as future proofing. ๐

Art MunsonKeymasterThis has been discussed many times here before. Try this link:

The search box is your friend. ๐

I’ve only been with Identifyy for 8 months and earned nearly $1k so far. I’m sticking with it. And, you can opt-out at Songtradr.

It’s a high bar for someone to monetize their YouTube channel so I have not had a problem as most YouTube videos are not monetized. Last count we had about 1000 YouTube videos using our music and no one has received any strikes.
In fact, I had a copyright notification on one of our own tracks, though it doesn’t qualify to be monetized. All that meant (if I had been a client) was that I could use the music but not collect any YouTube royalties.
I had forgotten to whitelist our YouTube channel but once I notified Identifyy, they removed the claim within a couple of hours.
If you happen to have music on a monetized YouTube site and they get a copyright strike, it should be very simple to ask Songtradr to release it. Shouldn’t be more than 24 hours.
I should add that our music is only non-exclusive with numerous libraries.
YMMV:-)
Art MunsonKeymasterSome libraries will have calls for this kind of music. Have you tried contacting Calm directly? Another one is Insight Timer, which I actually use every day. You might try AudioSparx as I think they have a playlist for that type of music.
Art MunsonKeymasterI will defer to LAWriter as he has much more experience than I. I am still older though. Ha,ha, ha!
Art MunsonKeymasterAll I have ever submitted, over these many years, were separate songs. I know some libraries might prefer them so I would check with any particular library you are planning to submit to.
Art MunsonKeymasterLet’s not hijack the thread please and comment on the new BMI letter here:
Art MunsonKeymasterShall we all start speculating on this and what it means? Sounds warm and fuzzy but probably less money for us “affiliates”.
Art MunsonKeymasterHi Vlad,
Have you seen this link? An older thread but might help you.
Glad you like the new look for MLR!
Art MunsonKeymasterYes, you can. All of our music is NE and on RF sites.
Art MunsonKeymaster@Sami. I do understand the issue. I’m sure you make money in your day job. Creating music is our day job and we should be paid.
Just because you have a video that is non-monetized doesn’t mean you shouldn’t license the music. Licenses are relatively cheap these days. If you search the multiple royalty free sites out there you will most likely find a version that would work for you. It may not be a major philharmonic orchestra but you could very well find something suitable at a reasonable price.
